Tracy Wells – Designer Millinery from the Lake District

I am a couture milliner based in the lovely market town of Ulverston on the outskirts of the Lake District. I design and make hats and fascinators using traditional millinery techniques.

All of my hats are handmade with careful attention to detail. The skills I use take time, they are not, and cannot, be created quickly! If you need a couture piece, please make an appointment with at least 6 weeks notice. The hats I make are ‘one-offs’ and never repeated (unless requested  i.e bridesmaids).

I have been practising my millinery skills for 8 years since qualifying as a City and Guilds couture Milliner. I learned my skills in the Cotswolds. I have made hats for Boy George, Donna Alexander (Holby City) and worked alongside Dave Myers (the hairy biker) and most recently Gok Wan! I have won a number of awards for my millinery and business and have been asked to display my work in London for London Hat Week. I have also been commissioned by other hat shops for my unique work.
